all my life i wanted to be a rockstar . i have friends who play music and sing and i always grew up idolizing them . Some of them are also asthmatic to but their able to lead normal lives and have no issues singing . a few minutes i was practicing singing and i couldnt even finish a sentence with out coughing and now i feel chest pain and throat and lung irritation. no where near am i a professional but as a kid my asthma would not be triggered like this , i was more moderate- moderately severe but now i am severe and take biologics and i still feel quite limited . its kinda embarassing cause i want to have fun with my friends but when they have to worry about me and something happening im just a burden to them and a huge responsibility.

My best friend and I both have nearly 10 year-old kids. We met when they were both newborns and she's been my ride or die for nearly a decade. Both our kids (Maria and Tim) are stubborn, smart, bossy, and sensitive. Over the last year or so my daughter has decided she doesn't like Tim anymore. That he's bossy, mean, and plays too rough. I agree that he sometimes has those qualities, but she's no prize at times either and has been awfully mean to him during most of their recent playdates (we often play with lots of other neighborhood kids at the same time do their interactions are buffered). Tim's mom is getting upset because my daughter has been excluding him a lot in things out not being kind to him when they play together. I've spoken to my daughter about it and she says she doesn't like Tim and she's growing up and wants to play with girls more because they're not so rough.
She's having her 10th birthday and decided she wanted a sleepover, only girls. I agreed that it made sense for a sleepover. This means she is also not inviting about 4 other boys that she sees and plays with regularly. When I told Tim's mom about this she was pretty upset. She thinks her son is being excluded because he is a boy, and that this is the yet again my daughter being exclusionary and me condoning it.
I didn't think she'd be so upset. I'm rethinking how I'm handling all of this, but I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. If I force interactions with them my daughter is ticked at me and they often end up fighting, but if I don't force interactions I'm condoning her excluding him. I don't want to lose my best friend over this. Help!!

I have attempted to make something a little non-traditional or conventional in terms of nattō. I prefer hikiwari nattō because of the texture; I prefer edamame over mature soybeans because of the fibecarbs. I tried combining the two in an experimental fermentation. (Edamame nattō already exists, but they do not sell them anywhere near where I live, and I do not see anywhere selling it hikiwari-style.)
It is almost two full days later, and the fermentation seems unsuccessful. I boiled edamame pods, and de-beaned each one by hand. Then I chopped them up in a manual food processor (until it was the size of store-bought hikiwari). I used regular store-bought nattō as the inoculant.
I used a steralised glass container and a heating strip that goes around the container (used for Kombucha scoby jars), and left it on the countertop. This gave me the optimal temperature of ≈110°F. I did the two layers of ventilated plastic wrap, but I put the lid on the glass container. After the first 18 hours, I saw promising signs. I left it to continue because the strings were present but not strong, so I removed the lid but kept the plastic wrap so the yeast could get more oxygen. I also noticed too much condensation was building up on the plastic wraps, which I thought was because of the lid trapping the heat— It only went downhill from there.
There were more strings yesterday than today, and the smell is less like nattō (as it was yesterday) and more like burnt coffee (not like ammonia). The strings have disappeared completely, and the beans just seem to have way too much moisture. I tried one of the beans I used to inoculate my batch with, and it is disgustingly bitter. The actual edamame beans just taste bland.
Is there any way to salvage this batch? Any pointers or suggestions?

So, throwaway for obvious reasons. I am in my mid30s. When I was 2 my dad remarried out of the blue and by the time I was 3, I had a new baby sister, D. In total, with all the stepkids and this new baby under one roof, there were 5 of us kids & even now as adults, we still consider ourselves siblings (even though my stepmom (SM) died in '09). Growing up life sucked because SM devolved to the point of abuse towards us older kids to spoil her little princess, D . Things like D got into trouble so all of us kids got whipped because she was the youngest so we should have stopped her from doing something to get into trouble. D would do things and laugh while we rushed to try and cover it up. D also was physically violent. I can't count the number of times she pushed me off of our trampoline, tried to literally drown me in the pool, or "accidentally" hit me with baseball bats or brooms or tree limbs. I once broke several fingers because she jammed the front wheel on my bike causing me to flip end over end. Then, she tormented me while my fingers were in the little metal casts by constantly trying to grab them or slam them into cabinet doors. My SM would punish me for "tattling" on D when she would hurt me because "it was an accident." I have been diagnosed with several stress disorders including PTSD from living through this hellscape of a childhood.
My other siblings either moved out or were kicked out over the years until there was no one left but me and D. I ran away from home as a young teen to get away from this situation (my dad was determined that my mom would never be allowed to have custody of me but that is another toxic story).
D became a teen mom, dropped out of school & was arrested several times. Then, her mom died which is terrible for anyone to deal with, I admit, and she continued to spiral. Her baby died under suspicious circumstances. She had several more children in rapid succession who each were eventually taken from her by the state for various reasons but most often for drugs. She was in & out of jail. My dad bent over backward trying to get her help, paying her fines, paying her rent, letting her live in his home, etc. She would rob him and run off again. He quit trying eventually after she stole $16,000 and some quilts that my deceased grandmother had made about a year ago.
She had disappeared for some time (I hadn't actually hadn't seen her in about 4 years). My brother called me yesterday in despair. She has resurfaced living in a rusted-out trailer with no power or running water. She has been on meth so much that she is skeletal and looks easily 60y/o. She has two toddlers with her (number 6&7, I think). My other siblings have rushed to her aid for the sake of the children. (I live 14 hours away in another state.) As of last night, D is at my brother's house now with her kids. Apparently, D started crying (like she always does) & saying that she is living like that because she "doesn't have anyone" and she's all alone.
My oldest sister called me on the way to see D at my brother's house and gave me a speel about how she needs us and my "Christian duty" and how we "don't want another child to die." But, F**K that! I will happily take in D's kids because they are innocent victims in all this but I NEVER will let that evil woman back into my life. I tried right after her mom died because I felt sorry for her (you know dead mom and dead child and all that). I let her move into my home. She tried to seduce my husband and stole from me WITHIN THE FIRST 3 DAYS!!! It might be wrong of me but just no, never again.

I believe fundamentalism is objectively wrong. Revelation is really cryptic. I can’t take it literally because it’s a vision and visions tend to have lots of meaning behind them rather than them being a movie that shows exactly what happens in the future. Like Genesis 37:9-10. The sun, moon and stars didn’t LITERALLY bow down to him. It had a deeper meaning.
But I’m seeing a lot of Christians thinking that one day at any time, big locusts will appear all over the earth and a gigantic trumpet will blow in the sky and every saved person will be raptured while the rest get tortured for eternity on earth. (Very simplified, don’t quote me on that)
But I personally think that’s a bit ridiculous. Especially since it has Christians doing bulk shopping at Costco to prepare to be persecuted, holding “the end is near” signs on the street and doing all sorts of crazy stuff to distract us from the great commission.
How are you supposed to interpret it? Do you see it as what’s actually going to happen? Do you think the demons are going to unleash hell on earth the exact way it’s depicted in the Bible? Do you think the great tribulation is a future event and not something that already happened in 70AD?
About that… how would that work? Christians are the majority religion now and it’s growing ever so rapidly these days. In the first centuries, Christianity was a minority and Christians were being tortured to death for being Christian. And the religion was at risk back then because there weren’t enough Christians to sustain it if thousands of them got killed.
Now, we’re growing and growing with a few setbacks now and then, and if such an event happened now where thousands of us got killed, the church wouldn’t be at risk because there’s so many of us.
If there’s 2.3+ billion of us and there’s so much end times fear mongering going on and so many people are holding on to their faith for dear life, how would that turn on us so quickly?
Why are we dreaming about the day where Christianity finally falls and we’re a tiny minority again being martyred left and right? Instead of dreaming of a world filled with Jesus’ love?
I feel like looking at revelation as something terrible and scary that can happen any day now instead of something that could’ve happened in the past or something that isn’t entirely literal is damaging to us and distracting us from the real goal… Thoughts?

I don't really know where to start and I am doing a lot of rumination and have a lot of self-hate, confusion and I blame myself for all of this. I feel like I don't matter and that I am worthless. I am sitting here crying not really knowing what to do.
My husband had like nearly 20 cats when we got together and I just went with it against my better judgement because all I saw was him and not his cats. Don't ask me why I kept on with him while knowing this because I don't have an answer.
We're married now and at the brink of divorce because he doesn't clean after them as he should and spends little time with them because (in my opinion) he isn't mentally or emotionally capable of dealing with them. He feeds and waters them, but doesn't spend the money or time to keep their area clean. He gives them the majority of the house to do whatever they want. They're behind a locked door at all times. I can hear them meowing pretty loudly and it is really unnerving. It is too overwhelming for me!!!
To be honest, I don't like cats, but I love him. I am 100000% a dog person. The house is big enough to where the cats are not near me so I don't have to deal with them at all. I sleep on the couch because I can't sleep with how bad the smell is. He sleeps in the room that is within the area where the cats are that is not properly cleaned. The times I have been near the cats they crowd me so much that it freaks me out as I am not used to being near so many animals at one time. This isn't normal!!! Let's not even talk about the sounds that come from them when they are being fed. They sound like rabid animals growling and hissing at each other. No fucking way am I dealing with that.
Long story short... he would rather we divorce than seek help. He says he will be fined and jailed for seeking help and that there are no solutions to the cats without him getting in serious trouble. He gets upset and angry when I complain about the smell and says he'll clean and that's all he can do. But he doesn't until whenever he feels ready 😭. It doesn't matter how much he cleans they have destroyed that part of the house.
I just want a clean house and to be able to sleep in an actual bed. Am I asking for too much?

Bit of a weird one but hear me out - we have one of those ‘fold out’ clotheslines on our side fence and the the lines had become loose so I restrung and tightened it. However, I ended up tangling them so one line crossed over the other, by time I realised I just thought “I’ll deal with it later” and fix it the next day or something because I would need to take the WHOLE thing apart to do this again.
Came back to fix it shortly after, somehow it had untangled itself and was back to normal - no idea how as it would’ve had to have been completely restrung to repair but I shrugged it off and thought, cool one less thing to worry about 🤷‍♀️
Came back a few days later to hang up washing and it was tangled again, like it was before. No idea wtf happened and the wind couldn’t have possibly done it because the lines aren’t near loose enough to tangle in wind so I’m baffled and now need to actually fix it myself 🙃

Hello, so yesterday was a tough day. My 12 year old Jack Russell Georgie had to be put down. We had all day to say goodbye and it still didn't feel like enough time. Can't believe she is really gone. She's was the best girl. Didn't know I could cry so much.
I now have only one dog now. Emmi or beanie as we call her and she's 9 and she seems okay as of this moment. Her and sister was beginning to be more independent before Georgie went over the rainbow bridge anyways. Any advice on how I can make Emmi completely comfortable and okay from now on? I love her so much and I want to do everything I can. Any advice would be really appreciated. She's going to have to be alone in the house at some point in the near future and the worries me.

I had the dream last year but I am still so confused. Me and my mom were biking somewhere uphill (location near my home, similar enough to reality) and we ran out of water. Our solution? We ate sand. We literally got off our bikes and then shoveled handfuls of sand into our mouth. I don't remember if it worked.

I am nearing the end of my first season on an Arsenal career mode, and started to wonder; if i were to mess around with the team sheets to put Thierry Henry in the squad (or any of the all-stars/legends/icons/whatever you want to call them for that matter) before starting a new career, when they retire at the end of the season, would this create a Thierry Henry regen?
Kind've curious as to whether this would work, however i'd rather not restart and replay the whole season just to find it doesn't work lol.
