So I’ve been managing our on prem environment from end of 2010-2019 Exchange.
We’ve had random things arise here and there with webmail login issues. Not really anything that affects production use but more just an inconvenience to end users.
We have two URLs for webmail. One at our prod site and another at DR. The Dr for 2016 and 2019 are set up as a SAN name, but have no actual ties within exchange on the internal/external url virtual directions.
I’m unsure of how it was set up on 2010 because I was only involved in the decom process, but in 2010 we had to enter the domain\username when logging into external webmail. In 2016 we didn’t have to and now in 2019 it is forcing us to type domain\username for the second url that is just a SAN name on the cert.
Now current setup, is 2019 with url1 at prod, internal/external virtual directory has this URL. This URL1 both internally and externally do no not require domain\username. URL2 is setup at our DR site with the SAN and requires users to enter domain\username both internally and externally.
Both servers are on separate load balancers and are setup the exact way. Not really sure where to look

Probably the third time I've posted this on Reddit in the last year and a half but it is still happening. There are constant connection issues with Shaw Webmail. Sometimes it works, most of the time it does not. What is this the 90's! C'mon Shaw.
I've disabled all firewall, antivirus on the Shaw website. I've cleared cookies as I often do to get it to work. It just keeps getting worse. YES it does work on Outlook but I have outlook on my desktop and try to use Webmail on my laptop when on the road. Today and yesterday this is all I get. And this is linking off the Shaw page. It will eventually come back up but you can't login.
Shaw webmail is so bad. If someone has a fix please pass it along.

Hi Everyone,
I'm doing my first deployment of Microsoft Authenticator and Conditional Access policies and have made a mistake somewhere and need help figuring it out.
For the past few weeks, I have given the users the time to follow our instructions for adding Microsoft Authenticator to their account, which everyone did successfully. Yesterday I turned on the Conditional Access policy to require multifactor authentication for users. As for the control, I am using the new Require authentication strength set to Passwordless MFA.
I had a user call in today and said her and others are in a loop. I screen shared with her and when she logins to webmail, it has her type in the Authenticator code like normal, but then it says that your organization requires more setup. Then it takes her to a screen that says:
"Additional authentication is required to complete this sign-in. Learn how to set up Microsoft Authenticator and enable phone sign-in on your device, then go to https://aka.ms/mysecurityinfo to add the authentication method to your account."
I'm not sure where I went wrong, but is this per-user MFA fighting with Conditional Access MFA? What's the best next step to clearing up this issue? I have turned off the CA policy for now until I figure out what is going on.
edit: just checked, per user MFA is set to disabled for all users, so I don't think it is that.

2023.04.17 22:23 Solo-Mex anyone else having Shaw login issues?

Tried to login to MyShaw to grab invoice, get an error about username/password being incorrect, although the same credentials are used to login to Shaw webmail and it was still working.
Unable to reset password, it told me there was no associated 'MyShaw' account and I may need to create one, but of course I can't because it actually does exist and has for years. Also no joy trying to use the 'forgot password' or 'forgot login' buttons. Support line was absolutely useless. Maybe even less than absolutely useless if that's a possibility.
So that was last week. Today I try to login to Shaw webmail (which was okay last week) and observe the following:
"Unable to communicate with login server"
Just seems really strange that an account that's been trouble free for years is suddenly plagued with these login problems, coinciding with the Rogers takeover. Any others experiencing similar?

Im going to be a freshmen at the University of Oregon in fall and I’ve been trying to log into Webmail so I can access my edu email but it keeps saying login failed. I’ve claimed my duck id and set up a password and the password works for logging into my duck id but not for Webmail. Has anyone else had this issue or have any ideas on how to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently a little bit confused. My Yubikey 5 worked without issue on different websites like protonmail, google or my works webmail on windows; I also use Linux.
Now the confusing part: Today this happened: I can login to protonmail on windows but not on linux and I can login to my works webmail in linux but not in windows. What is going on here?

My apologies if this is the wrong place to ask. I'm not a sysadmin level computer knowledge type of guy.
I'm setting up exchange online for a new construction company. We will have about 10 office staff and 30 field staff. The office will have 365 Business Standard licenses. The field staff uses very very little email and are basically just CC'd on a few emails between office staff and clients. I have a few questions regarding that,
  1. Is "Exchange Online Plan 1" the best for them? All I really need is for them to be able to receive and send a few emails on their @company.com address. The cost of the plan is small and not really an issue, but I don't suppose there is any cost savings/cheaper option?
  2. It appears Plan 1 is an annual charge. Are these (Plan 1) "licenses" assignable? Eg, if I setup a new employee John Smith ([email protected]) and John leaves after a month, can I disable that license and give it to a new employee, Bill Brown ([email protected])? Or do I need to pay a whole new annual charge for Bill and his email?
  3. Plan 1 says "Online Only" - could someone confirm that this just means desktop apps are not included? Ie, they are not restricted to using a webmail browser login and I can still set their emails up on the basic iphone "Mail" app ?

2023.03.23 01:06 Digitoxin Google Chrome flagging a personal site of mine as a phishing site causing my IP address to be flagged by BrightCloud for phishing

Every couple of months I have had to change the MAC address of my router to force my ISP to give me a new IP address because my IP address kept ending up in BrightCloud's database for phishing.
This was causing issues since my banking site, mortgage site, and statefarm.com are all doing IP address checks against BrightCloud's database and were not letting me log in.
I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out where the source of this issue was. I did thorough scans of all machines in the house for malware. I even blocked all outbound mail ports in my firewall forcing everyone in the house to use webmail. I even went as far as analyzing packets leaving my network looking for any specious traffic that could be construed as phishing, but found nothing.
This was happening every month or so. I even accused my cousin of having malware on his laptop because of unfortunate timing of when he visits and when the issue would occur.
It turns out Google is to blame.
I have a small public facing website running that I and a few friends and coworkers access. It is behind a very simple login page. The page is not branded and only has username and password form fields on it and a submit button. There is no javascript running on the page. It is SSL secured. It is not being spidered by Google.
The site doesn't get accessed very frequently these days, maybe about once a month. I updated my SSL cert recently so I wen to the site to test it and was greeted with the big red Deceptive site ahead warning. When I looked at the details, it says that Google has detected phishing on the site.
The first thing I did was check the source code to make sure nothing was modified. It hadn't been touched.
This discovery has me asking a lot of questions:
  1. If they are not spidering the page, what is making the determination that it is a phishing site? The Chrome browser?
  2. It seems like there is a correlation between when someone visits the site and when my IP address lands on the BrightCloud blacklist. Is the browser reporting the IP address back to Google allowing them to associate my new IP address with the site?
  3. Is Google the one reporting these IP addresses and websites to BrightCloud for inclusion in their blacklist?
  4. Why is my site being flagged as phishing in the first page? Is is because I have no branding or title on the site and only a login form?
  5. What do I need to do in the future to keep this from happening? Do I need to fancy up the login page to appease Google's heuristics?

I'm helping a friend with their old bellsouth.net email address (they had it forwarding to gmail); the forwarding stopped working sometime in the last month and I can't find a place to login to check the settings or check the mail online.
I tried the following places to login: (last week) https://www.att.com/my/ https://mail.yahoo.com https://currently.att.yahoo.com I also tried to access the email via multiple POP3/IMAP addresses via Outlook
att.com/my I could sign-in, but trying to access mail put the site in a loop
How can the webmail or forwarding settings be reached? or are these domain-addresses going away?

I'm trying to setup my own mailserver using poste.io, but I'm a bit of a noob.
I've bought an Ubuntu VPS server and a domain through Contabo. I've also setup a DNS entry for mail.mydomain.com.
I've followed this official documentation and successfully setup both docker and poste.io but now I'm stuck: How do I login into my webmail and create an email address?
I've tried to log into mail.mydomain.com with different port numbers but can't get in. Can someone help me? Thanks :)
