Vacation rentals in temecula with pool

Hey Everyone,
I’m just seeing if I can get some advice. I’ve been at my job for over a year now and been on my own in the role for 9 months. My job isn’t terrible by any means I have a lot of flexibility and I’m essentially my own boss as long as I get my work done. I’ve had no issues really with any of my coworkers, except when I need coverage when I was out sick or wanted to take a vacation. The pay isn’t very comparable to the work but it’s enough to pay the bills and with my education background it definitely seems like the best job “I” could get for the area. But I’ve been experiencing really high burnout due to the shear amount of work expected of me. Since I’m the only one who runs my department and there are no backups or anything. I’m just looking for a good way to combat this dread of coming into the office or the extreme lethargic days I have where I just can’t even get really anything but bare minimum done. Any advice would help.

rant/ As the title says, I have had a vacation trip booked since last September (and have been reminding my boss about it.) For context, I work for a retail company but run my own location. I approve every single time off request from my staff as directed by my boss.
My partner of 5 years has been working away for the last year and a half, so this trip will be the only time I have a) seen him since end of April, b) the only trip we were able to plan for the year, and c) won’t be able to see him again until October, when he moves back home.
I brought up my time off again recently and he is now saying he’ll have some stipulations if I want to go, which kinda irked me.
Now I am being told there’s a huge project on the day before I leave. I am going to talk to him today about moving the project up a week or two and I will put in as much work as I can leading up to it but idk, can they fire me for taking off my vacation without approval? I have spent a good $700-800 already and I need to nourish my relationship and my own mental health in order to be my best self for the rest of the year.
Plus there is really no other time past July that will be good for me to be able to take a trip as we will be busy up until January.
Just to be clear, I am not a bad employee. In fact, I’m great at my job and what I do, I go the extra mile because I do genuinely enjoy my work and the people I work with. My boss is also a great person, he and I are good friends now even outside of work so I don’t get why he has to make my life hard right now haha. This post is part venting, honest question, and part fishing for reassurance from other more experienced providers.
I am supposed to start with a private practice group within the next month or so. I haven't worked steadily for the last few months as I am still getting paid. My last gig was pretty bad with lots of low acuity, low complexity patients, bad administrators, but great benefits and hours. I left because I couldn't stand the ineptitude and inefficiency that was tolerated there. (Any guesses as to what kind of organization it was, based on that description?) I'm getting concerned because, at first, the group I am to start with took me out to dinner, the practice manager was very responsive, the doctors seemed like they really wanted me to sign with them, etc. But as time has progressed, when I call over I can't get in touch with anyone, emails weren't replied to, etc. I was supposed to 'start learning the ropes' today (unpaid, FYI), but received a text earlier this morning that the provider I was to work with is out sick and won't be back until Monday. None of the other physicians are available either--they are all out on vacation. So, now I am supposed to start learning the ropes next week. I feel like this is all somewhat to be expected given that it is a private, non-corporate, practice. But at the same time, there have been so many, not red flags per se, but yellow flags. I'm just not sure if the flags are yellow because I am anxious given my pay from my last job ends soon coupled with starting a new job or if they are actually suggestive of a practice in crisis. I just need to chill, right?

I tried writing about our conversations but the process of thinking about it and analyzing it is very depressing. When we had the talk, I felt much better than I do looking back at it now. Then my new date invited me on a trip during the memorial day weekend. One of my close neighbor friend encouraged me to go while she watched my kids. I was pretty excited about this vacation, my first adult only vacation in over a decade. I didn't want my overthinking about my ex to make me depressed during the trip, so I put that on hold. The trip went well and I am pretty optimistic about this new relationship.
Sorry to you guys for taking so long with this. But now that I feel happier, I can have a more grounded take on my ex's views. To start with he was again very apologetic about what he put me through and that I deserved better from him. When he was going through his cancer treatment while we were married, I was extra careful with his feelings and being calm and patient with him. That had become so much of a habit that even when he told me about his affair, I still treated him with kid gloves. I was firm about wanting divorce and refused to consider his insistence on working it out, but I swallowed my anger and didn't go off at him. But this time I got to properly express my hurt and anger at him and that was very very cathartic.
He took it ok for the most part but also was stung by it and got defensive. He told me in some detail about how he and his gf got together. She was his high school girlfriend. She came from an abusive background and in high school he had helped her and did a lot to encourage her to move out of that situation. When he moved away to go to University and she stayed their small town, the long distance thing dissolved their relationship. He wanted a more big city life and a few years after college he met me.
When he was visiting his parents home more while recovering, he reconnected with her. At that time she was struggling to leave an abusive relationship. It again was like their high school days where she was in trouble and he was the knight in shining armor. I suppose that can be very attractive to someone who's been facing weakness and their own mortality.
When he was home i was waiting on him hand and foot. I didn't even know that he could have enough energy to do all the leg work for this other woman and was spending quite a bit to help her. Thats where his currently being broke comes from, she was in financial trouble, and he solved all her problems. He is quite proud of how much he helped her and doesn't agree with me that he took something away from me in making me work for him while he put his energy away from our family. I don't wanna say that I don't support helping someone escape abuse, but I can't help feeling exploited.
His response was that he did a favor by spending time in his town because that lessened the burdens on me. It is true that when he went away life got easier by a lot. I had more time, I could focus more on kids, we could cook anything, eat anything. But if he had that kind of energy then he could've helped me you know? But he says that I was always stressed out and upset, my attitude was a drain on him. I resent that because I remember how careful I was around him, how much I made myself pliable to be his nurse. He brought up examples of how once I was so upset I went to the balcony to scream. The time I snapped at the kids and then cried about it. He had stories of how I was pushy and difficult.
He wasn't making it up, I have my faults, but I did work hard and tried my best. I didn't realize that my help and support wasn't good enough for him. I didn't make him feel good. I just did the shit work.
I think he resents me because he feels he owes me. He likes his gf because she owes him and is dependent on him.

We got a new sand filter at the beginning of the season it worked fabulous for about a month. Now it's not putting water back in to the pool with enough pressure we cleaned the filter and hoses, added new sand, tried connecting the filter to different power cords and outlets. Any ideas? It's reading 0 psi on the filter when in filtration mode. My pools suffering and I'm lost.

Do you remember anything about So in Another S/0? I just bought 2001 and just learnt that So is the main character so i want to review S/0 but i'm not planning to reread the whole book.
I only remember S/0's main plot is Mei going on a vacation to the beach and there she saw a bunch of ghosts and So, her distant relative or something...
Is there a summary somewhere on the internet that i can read to remember what happened specifically with So in S/0? I remember she didn't play a major role in the book but i guess it would be better to remember her prologue before jumping to 2001 for a better experience.

My tenancy starts today as there are large patches of visible staining on the walls where mould has been. For the summer, it should be ok as we can keep the window open but I’m worried about winter. The air is very musty when the window is closed.
In terms of cleaning, the tenant has cleaned upon leaving the property but nothing is actually clean. It’s just been a quick vacuum. The toilet bowl is brown with limescale and grime, the oven has a thick layer of brown grime on the door and all through the inside, the cupboards are all dirty inside just to name a few.
I’m most worried about the mould issue, as this is not my fault as I’ve just got the keys. Wondered how to address these things with my new landlord, I love the property and don’t want to rub him up the wrong way.

Hello, I am 22 and English is my 2nd language so I'd appreciate some help with some of the terminology.
I lived alone in a rental tower for 3 years and moved out last week. The company sent me a "notification of arrears" for $200 detailing that they had to patch nail holes in dry wall for hanging pictures. They are saying that if I do not pay in less than 20 days, they will "send the bill to collections".
Is this legal? Even if it isn't, could it destroy my credit?

I (F22) stay with my dad (54) in his apartment one night a week to keep him company, he usually works from home the next day since I go back home later that night.
This morning he had to go into the office, so like usual he tells me to go to his room and sleep in his bed while he gets ready for work in the living room/bathroom since I sleep on the couch. About 30 minutes earlier I heard him drop something which made me wake up because I’m a light sleeper, and I couldn’t go back to sleep after that.
I recently got an eye mask to help me sleep better so I had that on, but I still couldn’t fall asleep after getting in his bed because too many random thoughts kept popping in my head. I decided to take my leggings off that I had on because they were uncomfortable to wear to sleep (I forgot my shorts at home) and put them beside me on the bed.
After about 30 more minutes of thinking about random things, I hear him come into the room and feel a soft kiss on the side of my lip, his hand is also on my butt. In guessing he thought I was asleep because I had my eye mask on. I’m laying on my left side with my right hand close to my face and the comforter up to my neck. I move my face closer to the comforter as to wipe the kiss off and hide my face. About 2 seconds later I feel another one closer to my lips and I shove my face deeper into the comforter. I say “don’t put your hand on my butt, that’s weird” and he says “yeah… yeah”. I remember thinking I did a good job for saying that because I’m a people pleaser who has a hard time confronting people but I guess wearing the eye mask made it easy because I couldn’t see anything.
I immediately feel disgusted after he leaves the room and question multiple times if that was a dream because as far as I know that’s never happened (and because I can’t see). We often hear the question: "Is Player X good enough to be the best player on a championship team?"
Less often, you hear: "Is Player Y good enough to be the second best player on a championship team?"
It's time to give these second bananas their due. We're going through the 2000s and ranking each SECOND best player on the title teams. Their values vary -- some were merely good starters, some were All-Stars, and some were arguably top 5 players in the entire league.
Ranking them isn't easy, but we're going to keep a few caveats in mind.
--- We're ranking based on the second banana's play during the course of THAT SEASON -- not their careers overall.
--- Statistics will be important, but not the be-all and end-all. After all, there's a big difference between stats from 2003 and stats from 2023. As a result, we may often defer to season accolades like "All-Star" or "All-NBA."
With all that said, here are my rankings, but feel free to disagree and explain your own ranks below.

THE BEST (title-winning) SECOND BANANAS of the 2000s

(23) Tyson Chandler, 2011 Dallas Mavericks
The 2010-11 Dallas Mavericks were probably the most unlikely champion of the 2000s, with Dirk Nowitzki and a cast of older veterans who were seemingly on the decline. At the time, Jason Kidd was 37, Caron Butler was 30, Shawn Marion was 32, and Peja Stojakovic was 33.
You can make the case for Jason Terry to be the second banana here. Terry averaged 15.8 points off the bench for the Mavs that year, which is more impressive when you consider the context. (teams averaged 99.6 PPG then, 114.7 PPG now). Terry also pumped his numbers up to 18.0 PPG in their stunning upset over Miami in the Finals.
Still, we'll give the slight nod to Tyson Chandler as the teams' second most impactful player overall. Chandler finished 2nd team All-Defense and his strong playoff showing helped spearhead his DPOY campaign the following season (for the Knicks). Either way -- whether you give the nod to Chandler, Terry, or Kidd -- this would rank at the bottom of our list. None of those players was flirting with All-Star status.
(22) Tony Parker, 2003 San Antonio Spurs
The Parisian Torpedo will be a frequent contributor to this list -- logging a record-setting 3 "second banana" awards for his contributions to the Spurs' incredible run.
Naturally, his first would be his least impactful. Back in 2002-03, Tony Parker was still only 20 years old and in his second season in the league. Still, he was probably their second best player after a prime Tim Duncan. He averaged 15.5 points and 5.3 assists (solid numbers for the era) and held his own against Jason Kidd in the Finals. Parker wouldn't be considered a star yet though -- his first All-Star appearance came three years later.
(21) Andrew Wiggins, 2022 Golden State Warriors
Golden State's title last year was their biggest surprise run, fueled by Steph Curry and a solid-but-unspectacular supporting cast. Among them, you could debate the virtues and flaws of the second bananas -- Draymond Green struggled offensively, Jordan Poole struggled defensively, Klay Thompson missed significant time coming back from injury.
Of that group, I'd suggest Andrew Wiggins was their most well-rounded and consistent second banana. He averaged 17.2 PPG and even made the All-Star team. Better yet, he became a "winning player." He scored more efficiently (39.3% from 3) and played better defense -- particularly in the Finals. That said, Wiggins was probably on the level of a "good starter" more than a typical All-Star. For that reason, we'll rank him below a few others who didn't make the All-Star team.
(20) Tony Parker, 2005 San Antonio Spurs
Tony Parker re-emerges on our list and climbs even higher now in his age-22 season. He still didn't make the All-Star team, but he upped his numbers to 16.6 points and 6.1 assists per game. Again, we have to remember that these averages look better when you factor in the points "inflation" of today. Overall, we'll give him a slight edge over rising Manu Ginobili (who averaged 16.0 PPG off the bench that year), although it's debatable. Of the two, Ginobili played better in the Finals against Detroit. Still, whether it's Parker or Ginobili, the second banana would rank around this same range.
(19) Kyle Lowry, 2019 Toronto Raptors
The Toronto Raptors finally broke through when they rented mercenary Kawhi Leonard for the year, but Leonard was backed up by a very strong supporting cast overall.
Among them, we're giving a slight nod to the old dog Kyle Lowry (then 32) over the rising star Pascal Siakam. Lowry felt like more of the heartbeat to the team. The numbers don't jump off the page (14.2 PPG), but he was a strong two-way player who averaged 8.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game.
(18) Khris Middleton, 2021 Milwaukee Bucks
We have another second banana debate here, although we're leaning to Khris Middleton over Jrue Holiday. It's easy for our memory to get foggy now that Middleton has struggled post injury, but he was a very good starter before that. He averaged 20.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game (not far behind Jrue Holiday's 6.1).
While the 29-year-old Middleton didn't make the All-Star team this season, he was an All-Star caliber player; in fact, he made the team both the prior year and the year after.
(17) Chauncey Billups, 2004 Detroit Pistons
We're giving the primary "star" designation to Ben Wallace here. While "Big Ben" only averaged 9.5 PPG, his defense was the Pistons' biggest differentiator. In 2003-04, Wallace won Defensive Player of the Year and even finished 7th in MVP voting.
Among the other starters, we're giving the nod to Chauncey Billups over Rip Hamilton and Rasheed Wallace. Hamilton had the slight edge in scoring (17.6 PPG to 16.9 PPG), but Billups led the team with 5.7 assists per game and tended to be their go-to guy offensively when need be. Sure enough, "Mr. Big Shot" would go on to win Finals MVP.
(16) Tony Parker, 2007 San Antonio Spurs
As Tim Duncan aged, Tony Parker got better and better. His best second banana season would come in 2006-07. Now age 24, Parker averaged 18.6 points and 5.5 assists per game and made the All-Star team. He shot less threes and relied more on his ability to drive and convert in the paint. He shot 52.0% from the field overall.
In the Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers had no answer for Parker's scoring. He whipped them to the tune of 24.5 points per game (shooting 56.8% from the field in the process). Parker would win Finals MVP for his part in the sweep.
(15) Kawhi Leonard, 2014 San Antonio Spurs
For their last title, the San Antonio Spurs were more the sum of their parts than any one true star. Tim Duncan was 37, Manu Ginobili was 36. Tony Parker had probably graduated from second banana to their marquee player -- he was their leading scorer and lone All-Star that season.
After him, we'll call Kawhi Leonard their next best player. While Leonard wasn't a big name or big scorer yet (averaging 12.8 PPG), he still had a massive impact on winning. He was an efficient offensive player (shooting 52.2% from the field) and an excellent defender. The raw stats suggest that Leonard should be lower than this, but the advanced stats suggest he was already an elite player. Overall, his BPM of +5.0 led the team. We'll make the playoffs the tiebreaker, where Leonard stepped up his scoring and won Finals MVP. If you want to consider him the team's best player this year (which feels like a bit of revisionist history), Parker would rank around this same range.
(14) Kyrie Irving, 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers
Young Kyrie Irving (then 23) also gets a boost for his excellent playoff performance. In the Finals, Irving exploded for 27.1 points per game and helped the Cavs defeat the 73-win Golden State Warriors.
If you look at his 2015-16 as a whole, it gets harder to rank Irving much higher than this. He didn't play that great in the regular season; in fact, it may have been the worst of his career. He only played 53 games, only shot 32.1% from 3 (a career low), and only averaged 4.7 assists (also a career low). He also missed the All-Star game. In terms of peak performance, Irving was an excellent second banana (particularly for LeBron James), but if we gauge this exercise season-by-season he'd rank around middle of the pack.
(13) Pau Gasol, 2009 Los Angeles Lakers
Kobe Bryant rightfully gets the lion's share of credit for the Lakers' repeat from 2009-10, but history may forget how good Pau Gasol was when he arrived from Memphis to help out the cause.
Right in the thick of his prime at age 28, Gasol averaged 18.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. His size, skill, and basketball IQ made him the perfect mind meld with Bryant. All in all, Gasol made the All-Star team and even cracked 3rd team All-NBA. He's the first "All-NBA" sidekick we've registered so far, which explains his lofty ranking.
(12) Pau Gasol, 2010 Los Angeles Lakers
The following year, Pau Gasol was arguably even better. He started to control the paint even more, registering 11.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. Once again, he made the All-Star team and 3rd team All-NBA. Between Gasol, Andrew Bynum, and Lamar Odom off the bench -- this Lakers unit may have had the best frontcourt depth in the 2000s.
(11) Shaquille O'Neal, 2006 Miami Heat
When Shaquille O'Neal first arrived from L.A., he immediately assumed the mantle of the star of the Miami Heat. That first year, he even finished 2nd in MVP voting.
However, by the next year (2005-06), Dwyane Wade had usurped that mantle. Now 33, O'Neal shifted into more of a supporting role. He still had a major impact -- averaging 20.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks -- but became more of a second option as Wade tore up the playoffs. He appeared to slow down as the season wore on -- averaging just 13.7 PPG in the Finals.
Still, O'Neal's accolades this season rank highly -- he was an All-Star and 1st team All-NBA performer. For that reason, we're going to put him above some of the 3rd team All-NBA sidekicks. Still, you can argue against that as O'Neal was more on the level of a Pau Gasol than a true superstar at this point.
(10) Klay Thompson, 2015 Golden State Warriors
When we think about "sidekicks," you immediately think of someone with the skill set of Klay Thompson (then age 24). He took "3 and D" to the extreme -- nailing 43.9% from deep and contributing 1.9 "stocks" on the other end (1.1 steals, 0.8 blocks).
Like Pau Gasol, Klay Thompson made the All-Star and made 3rd team All-NBA that season. In fact, he even made an appearance on an MVP ballot and finished 10th overall in the voting. For a clear "sidekick," that's an impressive feat.
(9) Paul Pierce, 2008 Boston Celtics
Back in 2007-08, Danny Ainge wasn't cobbling together a team of a star + supporting sidekicks -- he was combining three stars who had gotten used to being "the man" in their previous stops. New arrival Kevin Garnett assumed the role as the alpha dog -- averaging 18.8 PPG, playing excellent defense, and finishing third in MVP voting.
Meanwhile, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen played the role of overqualified "Robins." Pierce averaged 19.6 points to lead the team, shooting 39.2% from three. Like our previous second bananas, he made the All-Star team and the 3rd team All-NBA. You also got the sense there was more in the tank when need be, as illustrated by his averaging 21.8 points and 6.3 assists in the Finals en route to Finals MVP.
(8) Dwyane Wade, 2013 Miami Heat
As we jump back and forth through time like a Chris Nolan movie, it may be hard to keep track of the ups and downs of these superstars. For this spot, we're talking about the Dwyane Wade of the "Heatles" days. In 2013, Wade was 31 years old, maybe a step past his prime, and a clear second banana to LeBron James.
Still, even in that role, Wade had a massive impact. In the regular season, he averaged 21.2 points, 5.1 assists, 1.9 steals, and 0.8 blocks. While he may have to take a backseat to LeBron James offensively, he utilized his athleticism to be a wrecking ball on the defensive end. Overall, he finished as an All-Star, 3rd team All-NBA, and even landed in 10th place in MVP voting.
(7) Kobe Bryant, 2000 Los Angeles Lakers
Again, let's pay attention to the timeline here. In the first three-peat of the Shaq and Kobe days, Kobe Bryant was only 21 years old and not at the peak of his powers. Make no mistake -- this was the Shaq Show early on. In the Finals, O'Neal averaged 38.0 points and 16.7 rebounds (more boards than Bryant had points with 15.6 PPG).
Despite that, Bryant was clearly a star player in his own right. He averaged numbers similar to 2013 Wade -- 22.5 points and 1.6 steals per game. He made the All-Star game, 1st team All-Defense, and 2nd team All-NBA, accolades that put him in this lofty spot on our rankings.
(6) Dwyane Wade, 2012 Miami Heat
We're toggling back to Dwyane Wade now -- in the year prior to our 8th place spot. In the Heatles' first title (and Wade's second overall), he was still 30 years old and arguably still in his prime. He averaged 22.1 points, 4.6 assists, and even better defensive numbers -- 1.7 steals and 1.3 blocks per game.
For his efforts, he was named to the All-Star team and to the 3rd team All-NBA. He also cracked the MVP voting again, finishing in 10th place once more. We're going to give him a slight edge on Kobe's first title year, but the two would be razor tight; they were both clearly top 10 players in the league at the time.
(5) Anthony Davis, 2020 Los Angeles Lakers
Say what you want about the COVID year, the bubble, and the "Mickey Mouse" championship, but Anthony Davis was a friggin' beast back in 2019-20. He averaged 26.1 points per game, keyed by his ability to get to the line and convert (84.6% shooting on 8.5 FTA per game). He caught fire in the playoffs, averaging a team-high 27.7 PPG with a 66.5% true shooting percentage.
Davis's defensive impact is what sets him apart from most other second bananas. He averaged 1.5 steals and 2.3 blocks per game, earning 1st team All-Defense and nearly winning DPOY. Overall, he made the All-Star team, 1st team All-NBA, and finished 6th in MVP voting. In terms of season accolades, that would be the best on our list so far.
(4) Kobe Bryant, 2001 Los Angeles Lakers
If 1999-2000 Kobe Bryant was still developing, he looked like a finished product by 2000-01. Now age 22, he was a dominant player on both ends. He averaged 28.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.0 assists, and made 2nd team All-Defense. Overall, this version of Bryant finished 2nd team All-NBA and finished 9th in MVP voting. That ranking would have probably been even higher had he not missed some time in the regular season (only 68 games played).
Looking back, you could see where some of the tension between Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal may have stemmed from. After all, it's not easy for a kid who put up 29-7-6 in the playoffs to accept being second banana forever.
(3) Kobe Bryant, 2002 Los Angeles Lakers
In the final year of the Lakers' three-peat, the 23-year-old Kobe Bryant had not only established himself as a superstar, but as one of the best players in the entire league. The numbers don't jump off the page -- 25.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists -- but we have to adjust for the era and the role he played.
The league clearly knew his value. He made the All-Star team, 2nd team All-Defense, 1st team All-NBA, and finished 5th in MVP voting (two spots behind Shaquille O'Neal). He'd jump even higher the next year, overtaking O'Neal as the leading scorer (30.0 PPG) and the leading MVP candidate (3rd overall).
(2) Steph Curry, 2018 Golden State Warriors
Finally, we answered the question that had stumped basketball analysts for years: what would happen if you added a superstar to a team that won 73 games the year prior? Turns out, they'd be pretty good.
For our exercise, the bigger challenge is determining who the "second banana" would be between two recent MVPs Steph Curry and Kevin Durant. I'm going to split the difference and say it was Curry's team the first year (when KD coincidentally missed 20 games) and then got handed over to Durant the following year (when Curry missed 30 games).
Through that lens, we're going to study Curry in that second season. Still only 29, Curry was still squarely in his prime. He averaged 26.4 PPG on a sparkling 67.5% true shooting percentage. Even though he missed 31 regular season games, he still finished 3rd team All-NBA and 10th in MVP voting. You could even argue that he was the most impactful player in the NBA at the time. After all, he had won back-to-back MVPs a few seasons prior.
(1) Kevin Durant, 2017 Golden State Warriors
If we're calling Kevin Durant the "second banana" for the first year in Golden State, he'd rank as the best two-way sidekick in the 2000s. Remember, we're not debating "Kobe vs. Durant" in terms of career achievement here; we're ranking their single-season efforts in a supporting role. Unlike some of our other stars (like a young Kobe), Durant was squarely in his prime at age 28.
In the regular season, he averaged 25.1 PPG on stone-cold efficiency (65% true shooting). Also, outside of Oklahoma City's super-sized lineup, he showcased his ability to protect the rim as well -- blocking 1.6 shots per game. Despite missing 20 games in the regular season, he still finished 2nd team All-NBA.
More than that, Durant demonstrated his true upside in the playoffs and Finals. Matched up with LeBron James and a historically-underrated Cavs team, Durant averaged 35.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.6 blocks on godly shooting splits of 56-47-93 (a 69.8% true shooting). This year's Finals may not be Adam Silver's dream, but it's a great one for this exercise. We rarely see a clearer "second banana" in the hierarchy like Jamal Murray for Denver or Bam Adebayo for Miami.
Ranking them among the second bananas would be a more difficult task. Coming back from injury, Murray didn't have a great regular season. He's still never made the All-Star team. Still, his ability to raise his game in the playoffs and make tough shots does feel reminiscent of young Kyrie Irving during that Cavs title run.
Alternatively, Adebayo has a great case as a two-way stud. He's not the type of "back you down" big that some people want him to be, but he can still score in the mid-range, he's an underrated passer, and he's obviously an exceptional and switchable defender. He made the All-Star team and second team All-Defense this year. Among our second bananas, he reminds me most of Pau Gasol during the Lakers run.

I started my divorce during covid. Moved out in October of 2020 and started dating someone. We were formerly work mates and she's a few years ahead of me in the divorce dept. Helped me thru the divorce and now I'm just 1 year post divorce. Working thru kids, custody, vacations, work, etc. Getting back to a new "normal" so everything on the book cover works.
I have the kids 50/50 so during my no-kid time we have a great time. Travel, trivia, dinners, hikes, bicycling, etc. But when we are separate with our kids (similar schedule with kids) its like a communication embargo. We focus on our kids.
She's asking for more though. She's frustrated with the separate lives we live when we are apart and when we're together. How it feels great together and how that can't carry on when we have our kids. Why can't we integrate a bit more. I have a 14 year old girl who's full blown teenager, I just got her to start spending time with me again after about a month hiatus where I was the devil and mom catered to her every need. My son is on the autistic spectrum but very high functioning, super smart and creative but misses some social queues. So I'm focused on normalizing life (oh I bought her out and moved back into the family home to keep it familiar with the kids) and working on the relationship with my kids. I'm not ready to introduce her and her kids yet.
What's the play here fellas? It will eventually happen where we integrate our families but it takes time. Maybe just writing all this out has helped. My kids absolutely come first, she knows that, I know that but I guess if I lose her to time maybe that's okay? Anyone else have this issue?

Hi everyone hope your doing ok. In two days I’m going on a vacation with my bf and right now I’m feeling quite anxious. I’m living with panic attacks, anxiety and some OCD thought patterns for almost 16 years now, it’s a constant up and down. My panic attacks aren’t health related so I never have the fear of dying they are more focused on the panic/anxiety itself and when the next attack hits. So it has become some kind of pattern almost that before something enjoyable is coming up I tend to get anxious/panicky of having another attack sometimes it happens sometimes not.
About two weeks ago this pattern again fulfilled itself. I was just relaxing on the couch playing a game and I noticed a slight tightness in my chest and from there it quickly went on. It wasn’t, by far, the worst I ever had but like so often I couldn’t stop it and I was frustrated because it is just two weeks before my trip to Denmark (this Saturday). It got better the next day but I still felt off and as if I’m just one step away from the next attack. It’s a kind of underlying anxiety or nervousness that this uneasy feeling won’t go away, although I know from experience it will go away, but I’m still afraid it will ruin my vacation. Honestly it has never come this far, I mean that a vacation was completely ruined by a panic attack or anxiety, but when I think about past vacations now it’s almost as if they were all somehow tainted by the exact same feeling that I have at the moment.
This is just so absurd, and frustrating that I just want to scream. Most of the time I’m feeling fine and still I’m so occupied with the moments when I feel off. I know it will go away, it always does, but still I’m afraid it won’t. I know in this time I’m frustrated and on edge because as mentioned above I think about the next time it could happen which maybe the biggest fear and the constant underlying trigger that I have. Maybe this is the reason that after longer stretched of feeling good/ok this underlying fear that the next panic attack is waiting somewhere just keeps piling up until it becomes real.
I know we should accept it as part of our life, and fighting against it isn’t helping, even though I know how it’s working, I know the triggers, the thought patterns which are always the same, the symptoms which are the same… I’m still just immensely frustrated I have to deal with this.
Well that’s it for the moment, just wanted to get this of my chest, sometimes it helps talking about it and hearing about the stories or others although I really wish no one had to go through this.

“You did what?!” I practically screamed in terror, at the explanation Ni!ita just casually dropped on us. ”You are a sick deplorable predator, who not only consumed innocent prey, but also your own children?”
“We did not consume our children, we ate defective offspring. Have you tried feeding a hive of 5 billion drones? It takes a lot of work to provide food for everybody in it, and considering most queens laid about 10 million eggs a year, the 23% defect rate was a lot of perfectly good food resource that we couldn’t afford to throw away.” Ni!ita explained. Her explanation sounded very disturbing, but it was terribly logical in its own, twisted way.
“I hate you for putting that thought into my mind.” I said.
“You said the hives were competing with each other.” Interjected !ar! “What happened to fallen soldiers, people who died of old age or accidents?”
“I am not sure, after your friend’s little fit a few moments ago, that you really want to hear my answer to that question.” Said Ni!ita, as if this entire topic was just a normal part of life, and we were the problematic party in this conversation.
“Lets change the subject Ni!ita, okay? Every new piece of information you’ve told us so far was disturbing on its own, but this, this was by far the worst. I am actually happy you are not here, with us, in flesh.”
“As you wish, little drone.” She said nonchalantly. “Where did you get this ship?”
“That is a long story, and I think it is a very boring…” Suddenly, a monotone voice drowned my train of thought, as orbital control connected with us.
“Sole trader A1-1, this is orbital control. You are clear for departure. Your departure vector for Serene Tranquillity is 15/208/164.”
“Orbital control, this is Sole Trader A1-1, I acknowledge the vector, manoeuvring to starting point. Thank you.”
„You are welcome. Transferring you to Interplanetary flight control.”
“As I was saying, this is a very boring and long story.” I tried to persuade her not to force the topic.
“I reckon we have the time for it, considering the travel time to our destination is what, a whole day? I believe that’s what you’ve said.”
“A paw is a day on Venlil Prime. But considering the weird astrodynamics of this planet, it does not represent what you would call a day. Their day is crazy long due to the fact that the planet is tidally locked to their sun, only slightly wobbling. If we want to calculate the travel time in Sillis context, it is close to 6 legs.”
“I’m sorry, to what it is close to?” Asked Ni!ita. I think she genuinely could not understand what a leg is.
“This is going to be a long flight, I can feel it.” I said, and began my explanation…

The past day way exhausting. Ni!ita is a very curious creature, she would not stop with her questions. If I didn’t know she was 200 years old, I would think she was a teenager. She wanted to know everything, how the society on Sillis worked now, how the Tilfish government operated, what the Federation was. Everything.
“Now that we are here, what will you do?” Asked Ni!ita.
“We will land, the ship will be unloaded, and we will take on an other transport job, preferably not to Venlil Prime.”
As if they were listening in, orbital control contacted us right at the end of my sentence.
“Sole Trader A1-1, this is Serene Tranquillity flight control. You are cleared for approach. Proceed to waiting orbit LPO 1-5.”
“Flight control, this is Sole Trader A1-1, instructions acknowledged, approaching LPO 1-5”.
“Huh, it seems this is not a busy colony, they only have a single level of flight control” Mused !ar!. “I don’t think we will be stuck in a traffic jelly.” As if it was on cue, flight control continued.
“Your landing port is Sheercliff. Descend to altitude 5000, heading planetary west, after 2000 units turn planetary north, approach starport from the planetary south. Loading scaffold 2 is yours.”
“Thank you flight control.” I replied.
“Welcome to Serene Tranquillity.” Said the person on the other end of the line, then immediately disconnected.
The planet was your average colony world. Meadows dotted the landscape, which was dominated by agricultural fields. Huge, endless fields of stingfruit trees, firefruit trees, Ipsom grain swayed in the gentle breeze. In the distance, the silhouette of our destination was starting to come into view, the city of Sheercliff. We followed the maglev line heading there, which passed through the occasional silos and warehouses where maglev trains could be seen being loaded with freshly harvested produce. As we neared the settlement, a huge mountain started dominating the viewport which sat right behind the city. Its snowy cap reached for the skies, and its ridges stretched In all directions, where they gently dipped below the horizon. The slopes of the mountain were a stark contrast to the natural beauty of the fields below us. It was dotted with mines, ore refineries, smelters and a myriad other industries related to the processing of ores. Enormous open-pit surface mines stretched endlessly, where shallow metals were extracted, while far-off into the distance a large body of water could be seen, its shores brimming with lithium-extraction pools. Monstrous excavators tore up starship-sized chunks of stone and dirt, while the fruits of their labour were dumped onto conveyor lines, heading straight to the ore processors.
“Quite a contrast.” Said !ar!. “Endless fields of food next to industrial wastelands.”
“Indeed. Though I have high hopes these produce for export, so we will have a full load to transport.”
!ar! gently landed the ship on the loading scaffold, and I brought out my datapad to look for work.
“You said you wanted me to work.” Ni!ita interjected. “How can I help?”
“Well, we need to figure out a way to connect you to a datapad. Does your casing have any connections apart from the one we connected you with earlier?”
“No, it doesn’t.”
“Then we have to order a custom connector to be made.”
“There is supposed to be a spare connector in the compartment above CNCQ slot, take that with you, it should make your job that much easier.”
“There is a parts compartment in there?” I was floored. How did she know? How can an ancient queen know more of our ships than we do? “How do you know?” I asked from her.
“That was the standard setup on tilfish spaceships. Spares were stored where they were supposed to be needed”. Added Ni!ita, as if it was the most trivial thing since the dawn of time.
I started walking towards the CNCQ room. It is impossible we’ve missed an entire storage closet in there. While there, I’ve decided to investigate a bit further. “Well, on federation starships, spares are stored in a dedicated spare parts storage. So that people only have to look at single place if something is needed.”
“That is also a viable approach, though when there is a problem, time spent fetching the needed part can be the difference between life and death.” Ni!ita shot back.
“So, you are telling me that our ship is full of hidden compartments with spare parts inside? Spares that we had difficulty finding on the market?” I replied with disbelief. The solution to our problems can not be this easy. “Now, tell me, where should I be looking for the compartment?” I asked, just as I’ve arrived at the room.
“It Is supposed to be right above the CNCQ slot. It should be labelled “CNCQ spare parts storage”
“Well, there is no text here. Anywhere in the room, for that matter.”
“Describe to me what you are seeing, right above the slot”. Ni!ita asked me.
“It’s the same as all over this ship. I can see the edges between the panels on the wall forming squares, and weird meandering lines zigzagging all over the walls and the ceiling, going across panels. Also, there are these small spots, they look like stains of goo, on some panels. Some panel has more spots, some only 1.”
“Exactly, you are looking for the one which reads “CNCQ spare parts storage””. Said Ni!ita.
“Neither one has any text on it, why don’t you understand me?”
“You just said you can see the texts on them.”
“What, the meandering lines and the spots? Are you playing with me? I can not see any written language on the walls, my visual translator would translate every known written language for me.”
“Are you telling me you can’t reads tilfish?” Ni!ita asked with surprise in her voice. “How is that possible?”
“You are not joking with me, are you? These are ancient Tilfish texts all over the surfaces of the ship?”
“Yes, what you called spots are our written language. Push the one that looks like a…” Ni!ita trailed off. I bet she doesn’t know how to explain which I should be pushing. They all look so similar. Like solar systems with circles at various positions, or maybe webs with knots. I wonder how it works, it does not look very intuitive. “Look at the rightmost panel that is just above the CNCQ slot “Ni!ita continued”, the compartment you need to find has 7 symbols. Push the central motif on the middle symbol.”
I followed her directions, and lo and behold, a cover popped open, revealing a small dark compartment, with various parts inside. Well, this was unexpected. I instructed my translator to mark the middle symbol, as well as the string of 7 symbols as an equivalent of ‘spare parts’. I know they must have more elaborate meanings, but for now, this shall be enough. I was curious how many panels hid parts for the ship.
“Now this out of the way, we just need to find an electronics store. !ar!, do you want to tour the city?” I asked from my co-pilot.
“Sure, why not. Though I don’t think this place will look any different from other Venlil cities. If you have seen one, you have seen them all.”

Finding an electronics store proved to be difficult, but finding one which could build custom electronics turned out to be borderline impossible. Navigating the circular city was disorienting, most buildings looked similar enough that one could not tell them apart at first glance. Everything was covered in fine dust, no doubt the result of the heavy mining around the city. We must have walked around the city twice before we’ve managed to find the store we were looking for. Upon entering we were approached by the most average-looking venlil I have ever seen. Her wool was neither short, nor long, it wasn’t white but it wasn’t grey either. Her face was entirely emotionless and featureless.
“Welcome to Electronics Abound. We hope you will find whatever you are looking for. My name is Telbo, how may I help you?” She asked from us. I swear this poor venlil was dead inside. She stared at us with an empty eye, looking eerily similar to that venlil from that infamous The Exterminators episode about the mind-controlling predator.
“Hello, we would like to have a custom adapter to be made. We have a pre-made connector, and would like to adapt it to a datapad-standard Universal Parallel Train socket.” While I am saying this, I hand her the ancient tilfish gadget. She takes the connector into her paws, turns it over, looks at it from all angles, even shakes it a little, then holds it towards me.
“Sorry, we don’t deal with arxur tech, it is illegal to even touch it.”
“This is not arxur tech”, !ar! replies.
“We don’t deal with human tech either. Or yotul.” She replied with a so very monotone an indifferent voice, that I would swear she was devoid of all emotions inside. “Anyway, thank you for your visit, have a nice day.” She pushes the connector into my hands, then turns around and leaves. As I am putting the part away, I notice a small piece of crumpled paper pushed into the socket. !ar! plucks it out, unfolds it, and reads in a quiet voice. -Meet me in the back-.
We look at each other in disbelief. This is unexpected, what could be so strange about this connector that she could not speak about it in the store. I walked out the store with !ar!, and headed around the corner to the loading area. There she was, waiting for us, nervously pacing around.
“Finally! What took you so long? No, don’t answer. Anyway, you shouldn’t be showing off with that ancient piece of CNCQ connector, if words gets out someone has such a tech, the Protector save them from the exterminators.” She said while handing me an other piece of paper. “Go to this address, ask the exterminator-cut venlil for gold-pressed latinum. She will help you.” And just like that, the venlil turned around, and walked back into the store.
The address on the paper isnt far, but the way we were given this information did raise suspicion in us, questioning wether we should go there or not. But curiosity also motivated us to visit this location, curiosity about the secrecy around our spare par

The walk to the address given to us wouldn’t have been long, if we wouldn’t have been lost in the circular city, again. By the time we’ve arrived, the sun was setting, and the city was getting quieter. The place we’ve been sent to was a junk store, selling and buying anything and everything one can imagine. Do you need a strayu-mixer-spoon-cleaning-sponge-holder? You can choose from 5 different colours. But if you need a strayu-mixer, that you wont find here.
We walked up to the counter, behind which sat an elderly venlil woman, with short-shaved fur. There was a scar across her muzzle, but otherwise she looked a good deal younger than she probably was. Only her eyes gave away how much she has been through.
“Greetings, esteemed tilfish customers. I am Kelra, and this is my humble store, Junkyard. How may I help you?” She said with an enthusiasm in her voice that could mean nothing else than this was her dream job.
“Greetings Kelra, this is my co-pilot !ar!, and I am Cli!. We are looking for…”I hesitated for a second”…gold-pressed latinum.”
Kelra jumped down from her chair, and started walking towards the door. “Oh my, I did not expect such important visitors for today, let me close the store before I attend to your needs. Please, have a seat in the office right behind the counter, I will be with you in just a moment.” She replied in cheery, sugary tone. We walked into the office, and sat down in the chairs there. We could hear her rummaging in the store, looking for something.
“So, what are you fine gentlemen looking for?” We heard her voice behind us, as it increased in volume as she walked towards the office. “But before you dive into your stories, please keep the following in mind.” We both looked at her behind us, and immediately regretted landing on the planet. She was standing behind us, flamethrower in hand, pilot light burning, aimed directly at us. “If at any point you try to trick me, I will burn you to ashes.”

My husband's parents just moved to Edmonton (rather a city near by) from Ontario. My husband has an opportunity to transfer to Edmonton or Calgary with work.
Currently we're in BC (Vancouver), I was born and raised here, and I'm slightly unsure if I really want to move to Alberta. I've decided I'd choose Edmonton over Calgary.

I recently had a discussion with someone about sleeping on airplanes, how flying business class (front of the plane) should be much better to sleep (besides the obvious advantage of bigger seats or even beds) because there’s a lot less engine noise.
The past few weeks I have been on vacation. On my flight to my destination I was located in the back of the plane and on my flight back home in the middle of the plane right above the wings. Both the same aircraft (a333). To be honest I didn’t notice a significant change in noise levels.
So my question is to people with more experience flying business class/in the front of a plane or perhaps even pilots in the cockpit, is it really quieter in the front of a plane and if it is does it make a huge difference?
